Customer Rating: Summary: Good News for sore toes Comment: During my college years I worked at a high quality shoe store specializing in leather shoes for children. Each shoe was of the highest quality and as you might guess, very uncomfortable and stiff. We were trained to use a number of devices designed to soften either the heel or the critical areas around the ball of the foot and toes. It seems like everyone in my family has unusually wide feet. My twin daughters measure 6 1/2 EEEEE! Yes, if given the opportunity, they could indeed walk on water or at least paddle like a duck. My father in law has large bunions on both his feet. My wife is always complaining about her little toes hurting her during her exercise workouts. I bought a beautiful pair of golf shoes online but the little toe area was simply too snug to enable me to wear the shoes.
A few months ago I remembered the bunion stretcher I was trained to use at the shoe store. I realized that I could do everyone a favor by buying one for my families use. The only real place to look was the Internet. I didn't know the correct name for it... shoe stretcher. After searching the web I finally found the correct name - Bunion stretcher. I ordered the stretcher and received it rather quickly. I received it just in time to adjust my daughters new dress shoes (7 EEEE) and my wife's new Cross Training Shoes (9E) and my previously ordered golf shoes (9 1/2 EEE). Everyone is thrilled that I ordered the stretcher. Even my father in law is excited to bring a pair of this shoes over to be stretched.
If you have wide feet I highly recommend the bunion stretcher. It is really easy to use. Just focus on the site needing stretched, place the ball part of the device on the inside, squeeze down, and lock into place by tightening the lower bar and screw assembly tight. You can leave it in place over night or for just a few minutes.
The stretcher came with a small spring type assembly. I can't really figure out what it is for or where it should fit on the stretcher. It doesn't seem to matter either way that I don't know where it goes. The stretcher works great.
